Happy Chinese Lunar New Year~

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
新年快樂!

Wish everyone have a spectacular year!! I know I will ;)

We had our new year eve family dinner last night at North Port restaurant. There are squid balls, pig leg, crabs with sticky rice, round fish in sweet and sour sauce, veggie 1, veggie 2, pork with celery, oyster taro chinese cabbage soup, drunken chicken soup, and green bean tapioca drink. (as you can see, I really know my dishes well :P ) The food was so good, I ate so much, probaly too much. Luckily I didn’t threw up this time and I felt fine the whole night. This must means my stomach have adjusted completely with the newly grown liver. Yayy~

Sticky rice and crab

This year is the year of the pig (in chinese zodiac). There were 15 people at the new year eve dinner but no one is a pig. hehe “Those born in the year of the Pig–1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983 and 1995–are said to be very devoted to family and friends. Other adjectives to describe “Pigs” are caring, industrious, intellectually curious, well-mannered, trustworthy and sometimes naive. Pigs are compatible with Rabbits and Sheep. Famous people born in the Year of the Pig include Thomas Jefferson, Ernest Hemingway, Humphrey Bogart, Lucille Ball, Alfred Hitchcock, Mahalia Jackson, David Letterman and Arnold Schwarzenegger.” – Quoted from explorechinatown.com.

There are a lot of things going on today.
There is a celebration event at Flushing Town Hall
There’s cultural festival and fireworks in Chinatown
The parade is next Sunday Feb 25th for some reason.

Well kids, bundle up, dress warm, and have fun!
