Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
At the rock climbing class today, my cousin asked the instructor Dario about carpal tunnel syndrome because she’s been having minor pain in the wrist area and she was wondering if it’s something to do with rock climbing. her brother and I think it’s from excessive keyboard/mouse usage. Dario actually had CTS and had to go through hand/finger surgery. He said he didn’t have pain but tingling and numbness in the hand/fingers. When I heard that I thought to myself, man, I have CTS on all four limbs haha My fingers/hands and toes/feet all have constant tingling and numbness, the side effect of a chemo drug oxiliplatin. It was suppose to be gone in 6 months but I am still feeling it… the intensity seems to have went down but maybe becuz i got use to it? will need to check with the doc.
carpal tunnel
Try to avoid heavy use of your hand for up to 3 months. A positive slope of a keyboard often causes excessive wrist extension and thus an increased pressure within the carpal tunnel
