Medi-Port Flush
went for medi-port flush today. (medi-port is an implant at the upper chest area used to facilitate the injection of chemo drugs. it needs to be flushed every 2-3 months to keep it from clogging up.) waited for about an hour outside in waiting area, then inside waiting room. the actual medi-port flush took only 5 mins. i wanted to do it myself but it involves sticking this big needle through the skin and into the port. for safety reasons they dont allow the patients to self flush. the medi-port is almost non-existent to me these days. i dont really feel it, it’s like a part of me now. the flushing went well, nothing clogged. showed my nurse the infection area, she said continue to apply the ointment, if it gets worse, let her know.
pretty much all of the personnel at the front desk area are all gone. mark after some time away is back at the front desk, jessica is around, jacqualine and jamie. i was told they got promoted and now working with the doctors. kinda weird seeing all the new faces. i didnt get to go visit the chemo room.
the next time i see any of them is after new year of 2008.
