Last Procedure

Tomorrow will be the day that I’ll have my last procedure, which is to remove the medi-port implant on my right upper chest used for chemotherapy injections. That mean I won’t be needing it no more and that I am really done with cancer treatment! :D I am pretty excited the last couple of days as I prep myself to finish all things that need to be completed so I can be relaxed going into the procedure and come back resting stress free. Whooohooooo~

The procedure has some requirements. No Aspirin days before the procedure. Reason being aspirin also functions as blood thinner which will affect the healing cuz blood can’t clog. No cream or lotion on the body. The pads won’t stick to the slippery lotion, and that will interfere with the monitoring system. I have no problem with that because I don’t use lotion or cream anyways haha No eating after midnight the day before the procedure. After midnight only clear liquids are allowed (water, apple juice, cranberry juice, etc).

It’s strange they always give the date of the procedure/surgery but they never give you the time until the day before the procedure. I have asked them about it but they just gave some confusing reasons that I couldn’t understand haha. Maybe someday I’ll find out. If someone knows why, please let me know. I got my call today and they told me the procedure will be 11am, and arrival time will be 9:30am. The entire process will take about 4 hours but depending on how I respond to sedation, it may be longer.

Say good bye to my 3rd nipple :P
