Sailing~

It’s been about 6 sessions since the start of the course, 1 more session and we are going to be tested for certification. My sessions are on Mondays and we have been pretty “lucky” with the weather. It’s either very windy, rainy, or extremely HOoOooT!! So we didn’t get to go out on the water couple of times. TASCA has provided makeup sessions so that we can get more practice. Bu unfortunately I couldn’t make it to any of them.. Either way, I am still pretty confident that I got all the rigging and knots tying down, as well as sailing manuvers so it should be smooth sailing for me (pun intended) :p

A small incident happened last Monday. I might have twisted my right knee just a little bit trying to help another boat getting out of the dock area by pushing along the side of the boat. The problem is that the part of the dock next to the water is extremely slippery and I slipped and almost got dragged into the water by the main sheet (line). It somehow got looped around my left leg. With the thought of being dragged into the water by one leg, which I can’t even swim out of, I quickly trying to unwind my leg by spinning the left leg counter clock wise. Luckily I got myself out of it. Both of my feet got wet but I was alright, except losing my pride as one of the instructor joked about lols haha The lesson learned is to never help anyone else on the dock hahaha jk To help another boat out in that situation, hold and push using the boom because it’s long and it gives more room away from the slippery part of the dock. Gotta remember that ;)
