Learn to Play Guitar
I have attempted several time to learn to play guitar in the past maybe 10 or so years but each time just failed for some reason. However, that have changed since November of 2009, thanks to Youtube and people who posted song tutorials on it. One day I just went on to Youtube and found a few video tutorials of the song “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz and was amazed at how good many of them are. Several of them are made specifically for beginners and provided easy chords and strumming pattern to play the song.
I decided to give it another shot. I sort of know the chords but weren’t able to transition between them smoothly so I practiced and practiced and I got it all of it a sudden. The first week was tough, I was only able to play about 15 minutes a day because the left hand fingers start to really hurt from the metal strings. It almost made me want to stop but I just do what I can each day. After about a week or so the calluses started to form on the tip of the fingers and they don’t really hurt that much anymore. I started to play for half an hour or more each day. Learning a song I like also helped so I can hum or sing along with.
It’s been about 3 months since I started learning to play guitar and I have learned to play and sing 3 songs by heart. They are “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, “Hey Soul Sister” by Train, and “Grow Old with You” by Adam Sandler. I am also working on “Hotel California” by The Eagles, “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Collait, and “Fireflies” by Owl City. Now I don’t know if I am good the songs or not haha but I sure do enjoy playing and singing it
